How to Remove Thesis Sidebar and Widgets

So, after googling for an INSANE amount of time for what seemed to be a fairly simple task – how to remove the sidebar all-together from the WordPress Thesis Template – I finally figured it out on my own. So, for you other frustrated Thesis users out there that are looking for this info – here it is – and you’re going to kick yourself once you see it.

From the Template Dropdown selection – select “No Sidebar” on the page that you don’t want to have sidebar’s on. Pretty stupidly simple, huh? Well, I had tried custom functions and editing of the files, and I am suprised it took ME as long as it did to figure it out. Anyways, until next time.

Where is the template drop down selection? I can't seem to find it....

The images aren't appearing becasue the links are defunct. They'd help. I cannot find the Template dropdown you're referring to. I do know about removing the sidebar from specific defined pages, btw.

This works, but what about removing the sidebar from say a categories/archives page? Any ideas?

The only problem is that removes the mutimedia box, too, which I would like to keep on my front page. But it looks like the only solution without a seriously custom hack is to do what you mentioned above, and then just div up the content and create two columns, one for content and one for video. Ugh. Oh well! :)

holy crap. that was too easy, thanks for posting it :)
but i did spend the last few hours learning about hooks, so not all is lost.
nevertheless, i still don't know how to use hooks to keep the sidebar but remove the widgets inside it and replace with other links. so, I'll keep googling....
